Ica is located 310km south of Lima, where you can find
a fine archaeological museum. Driven to the south
through the desert we find Nazca, land of the famous
lines preserved by Dr. Maria Reiche, this enormous
geometric figures, most of them animals figures, were
marked in the arid sands by the former Nazca inhabitants

250 km south of Lima, is the peninsula of Paracas,
and arid piece of land, center of one of the most
remarkable archaeological areas in Peru. Paracas is
the biggest sanctuary in wild fauna, there is also
the Ballestas Islands, home of thousands of marine
birds, pelicans, boobies, swallows and gulls, among
others who shares its habitat with sea lions and
seals. Paracas was also the center of an advanced
pre-Inca culture that produced exquisite textiles
and dominated the technique of cranial trepidation.
