At
impressive 3800 above sea level, is a lacustrine port
well-known as the folklore capital of Peru, located
in a plain south region. Puno lies on the shores of
the famous Lake Titicaca which are shared with Bolivia,
is the highest navigable lake in the world., Is the
cradle of the ancient Aymara civilization and the birthplace
of the founders of the Inca Empire, also cradle of the
rich pre-Inca culture Tiahuanaco.
Dry and cold climate, surrounding the Lake Titicaca
and spread among its small islands lives descendants
of the Incas who still work the land in small indigenous
communities that still keep the mystery of their culture.
